The Canine Eye Registration Foundation is dedicated to the elimination of heritable eye disease in dogs through registration and research. Their open database is available online and searchable via the name of the dog, registration number and kennel prefix. Many breeders claim their dogs are CERF'd but CERF and the ACVO are separate entities, and a dog not found in the CERF database is not CERF certified. CERF results are releaased to both the AKC and OFA. ACVO results are not. Always ask to see paperwork on dogs not found in the CERF or OFA database!
